ABOUT

David Calamari graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2021 with a BFA in design and technical production, with concentrations in set design and technical direction.

Currently, David resides in New York, and has worked in some of the industry's top scene shops (Hudson Scenic Studio, Tom Carroll Scenery) building scenery for on and off-Broadway productions, regional theaters, concert tours, and many other venues.

David is the lead scenic fabricator for Asi Wind's Inner Circle, the smash-hit magic show currently running off-broadway at the Judson Theater, as well as the master carpenter and scenic charge artist for Terror Haunted House, NYC's largest haunted attraction. He has also been brought in to build and paint scenery for other venues across New York, including The McKittrick Hotel, home of Sleep No More, and the White Plains Performing Arts Center.

David is also co-owner of 'Tailored to Fear, LLC,' a company that specializes in scenic design, fabrication, and painting for haunted attractions and escape rooms.

Think David can be of service on your next project? He can provide services in scenic/prop design, construction, and painting, as well as technical design and drafting. Contact him to discuss details.
